Here at Pats 4 Paws we know only too well the anxiety that comes from even the idea of furkid separation. We have two bengal cats who are completely spoilt and we fear would never forgive us if we placed them in a cattery. Not to say catteries are harmful to pets, but our cats are indoor only, and are not exposed to other cats, and are especially clingy to us. We therefore feel it would be a huge shock for them to be removed from all that is familiar, especially without us there to comfort them. We have even travelled interstate with them in the car to avoid leaving them behind.
Crazy cat owners we most definitely are, but even we recognise the time will come when we need to leave them behind. What we really want is a service that comes to our house while we're away, to see to our pets in their own home so they don't have to be unnecessarily upset and anxious. We thought there must be other like-minded pet lovers out there craving the same kind service, and other pets who would be distraught to be boarded. So, we started Pats 4 Paws.
Pats 4 Paws is run by us, Holly and Kane, a husband and wife team. We also have a dear friend and fellow animal lover, Eunice who is retired and loves helping us out during peak periods. We all have much experience with animals of all shapes and sizes from moggies, mutts, mice, fish, birds, turtles and even a rather quirky feret. Whether it's pure bred, a brilliant blend, covered in fur, fins or feathers we have a soft spot for it.
